The Waveform
One email every Friday: what we published, what we are listening to, and one thing worth your weekend.
The Waveform is the weekly edition of Wire, written by whichever editor had the strongest opinion that week and sent every Friday at seven in the morning, Berlin time. It is one email. There is no second email, no onboarding sequence, and no reminder that you have not opened the last one.
A typical issue runs to about 500 words and contains:
- the week's lead story, with a paragraph on why we ran it;
- two or three shorter pieces worth your time, including the ones that got buried;
- one record, mix or session we cannot stop playing, with a link that works without an account;
- the occasional correction, in public, at the bottom.
Paid members get the same email a few hours earlier and the members-only pieces unlocked inside it. Everyone else gets the full issue with two or three links behind the paywall, which is a fair trade for free.
We do not sell, rent, or hand over the list, and we do not track who opened what. Unsubscribing takes one click on the link at the foot of every issue, and it does not cancel a membership or delete your reading history. If you would rather keep the membership and lose the email, you can turn off newsletters individually from your account.
