Fjord Festival Locks Its 2027 Lineup — and It's All Unsigned Acts
All 42 acts on next June's bill are unsigned or self-released, and the festival says the rule is now permanent.
The Fjord Festival has confirmed its 2027 lineup, and not one of the 42 acts on it is signed to a label.
The festival, which runs from 17 to 20 June next year across the same three stages, published the full bill on Monday evening after a booking process it says took eleven months and drew roughly 1,900 applications. Festival director Ingrid Sohlberg confirmed that the policy is deliberate and permanent: acts must be unsigned or self-released at the time of booking, all four headline slots included, and every artist keeps 100 per cent of their merchandise revenue.
Fjord ran a partial version of the rule this year, reserving two stages for self-released artists. Our report from the site in May found those stages consistently better attended than the main bill, in worse weather.
For booking agents the consequence is blunt. Fjord can no longer be worked as a package deal, and for the first time at a festival of this size, having a roster is a disadvantage rather than a way in.
